OWN Explores Hospice at Louisiana State Penitentiary

(Angola) On Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. there will be a screening of the OWN docudrama. This in depth journey through the Hospice program will be presented at the “Tudy Chapel” located within the maximum security gates of Louisiana State Penitentiary.
This prison wide screening will be prior to the nationwide premier on July 28, 2011. This docudrama was a year in the making and follows the lives and deaths of offenders involved with the award winning hospice program at Louisiana State Penitentiary. Filmmaker Lisa Cohen will be present. Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker narrates the two-hour feature long docudrama that explores compassionate end of life care in prison among those destined to die for the crimes.
